Natural remedies for Dogs

Natural remedies are readily available these days, so we can treat medical problems in our pets without putting profit into the pockets of the pharmaceuticals.

Three I have used for my dogs are Devil’s Claw, Turmeric and Hemp Oil.   As my dogs aged, I gave them a daily dose of Turmeric, which is also recommended for humans with arthritis too.  One particular galgo had arthritis set in a serious hind knee joint which he had damaged as a puppy and which vets did not recomment operating on, as there was no guarantee of improvement.  To help ease the pain I used Hemp Oil, or CBD oil as it is sold as.  Vets very often prescribe Medicam but a side effect of this is liver damage. A small daily dose of CBD oil had the desired effect as he never showed any signs of discomfort.

Devils Claw is another natural remedy which I have used with great effect.  It is the root of a plant  with a distinctive claw-shaped fruit. Dietary supplements and teas that contain devil’s claw are made from the roots of two different plants: Harpagophytum procumbens and H. zeyheri.  I purchased it in powder form and used the canine product for my dogs and the equine product for one of my horses which had breathing problems.

Ir’s worth trying natural remedies to treat your dog before getting involved in expensive vet fees.
