‘Update for Esca … on Monday the specialist checked her leg. He is very happy with the progress the plate and screws are stable and we can begin with physiotherapy to encourage her to use the leg. She has finished her medication for the surgery so now we have started treatment for Anaplasma for 30 days. Her anemia is improving..

Depending on the how well the fracture heals then the plan is to first remove the screws. Then a second surgery to remove the plate. We won’t know until then if Esca will need a further surgery to fuse the joint. Hopefully with physio we can get full function of the leg and she won’t need it ..

She is doing so well and such a sunny personality and a great sense of fun. I have no idea why anyone would abandoned such a sweet lovely dog.’
