A few days ago Bev Farmer of Podenco Friends put out an appeal for this podenca, which a group of volunteers were trying to capture. If they could get her, they needed transport to get her to Bev.

Esca has been on the streets for 2 months ….2 weeks ago she was caught in an animal trap, the owner of the trap released her but let her go. She is unable to walk on the leg and the bone is exposed and she is also pregnant. It’s urgent she gets to see a vet.

Tina Reeves who lives in the village has been trying to catch her for weeks and been feeding her, this afternoon Esca had the good sense to enter into Tina’s house. It’s a very rural part of Spain and there are no local vets.

Many thanks to Vicente Cervero Lopez who arranged for the SOS team from Malaga to go to the location yesterday they spent all day looking for her but she did not show up

Update 27/10. Cath Wall answered the appeal and the podenca is now safe wih Bev at Podenco Friends’ finca. Her waters have broken as I write, so the pups are coming. She will have to wait for her visit to the vet.
