In 2016 Yo Galgo Productions made a video highlighting the plight of the galgo. They have now acknowledge that the podencos suffer just as much and in the same way as galgos.

It’s not only galgos that suffer greatly in Spain. This sweet fellow is a Podenco, another hunting breed that can be found in high numbers at shelters. Just like the galgos they are being discarded or killed when they no longer live up to their owner’s expectations. In the demonstrations all over Spain the 4th of February we also fight to end the suffering of the Podencos. Join us, we have to end this.
