Podenca abandoned in Valencia – puppies stolen

Podenca Rescatados 1 400 5 2017A sad story that is all too common to podencos abandoned to fend for themselves. This is from Podencos Rescatados.

Carol

This podenquita was found her a town of Valencia Province; had given birth to a litter of puppies (probably a new mother for how young she is). She had been tracked for a while by people trying to rescue her. She has suffered so much in her short life that she became fearful and didn’t want to be caught. Somebody decided that it would be easier to take the pups from their mother, leaving her in a sad state, dejected, without understanding why they were taking her little ones, never to see them again.

luckily there was a person who never forgot her and sought help to catch her, using a cage trap for several days, until she finally went in and was able to be rescued.

We don’t get a better idea of everything that has to endure an abandoned dog, especially the females who are most vulnerable and when they least expect it, they become “Mothers” courage alone, helpless, fearful, fragile, having to deal with the move forward with their little ones without anyone’s help, without the warmth of a home, hiding and constantly running from the people, with no one to show an iota of affection.

Her date of birth approx October 2015.

Carol is size small / Medium, weighs about 10 kgs and has a friendly nature, shows suspicioun at first but her curiosity ittle by little gives her confidence. She has progressed a lot in the shelter and we believe that in a home her breakthrough would be much faster.

With the other dogs in the shelter, she is quiet and submissive, is sociable with everyone. She walks well on a lead and doesn’t pull. She does bark if she doesn’t trust something or is unsure.

Podenca Rescatados 3 400Her face says it all, a mommy at this young age will have had to live many unpleasant episodes in her life. It’s time to find a family to show her what it’s like the warmth of a home.

She is in Valencia in a shelter. She will travel with a Pet Passport and spayed, subject to completing an adoption questionnaire, pre-visit to the home and adoption contract.
