  • 8 podenco puppies in Seville perrera – help needed to get them out!

    Seville perrera 8 pods 1 170These podenco puppies are in the Zoosanitaria perrera in Seville province and at great risk of parvo! Pili is appealing for donations to rescue them and get them into foster. Here’s what she says.

    ‘The only adopted was the white boy.. For nearly a month in the kennel.. My partner and I are doing everything possible to save their lives looking for foster until October to get them to Alicante. Also, we are trying to raise for transport.. For Vets and for kennel fees, if necessary. It is very urgent that come out already.. otherwise they may all fall sick and die.

    First up is Izzy, a 13 week old Podenco Maneto and will be small when fully grown, about the size of a Jack Russell. She s fully vaccinated and passported and is adorable and full of fun .

    Madison (brown & white) is 5 months old and was saved form the hands of a vet who had her tied to a wall for ten days waiting to put her to sleep! She is an adorable Podenco mix and is very very loving and playful. She sleeps on the sofa in the living room at night and is a very chilled wee girl. She is passported and fully vaccinated

  • The Baranco podenco puppies – beating the bastard who tried to kill them!

    Baranco puppies road and barrier 250This is a road and a ravine in Spain. on 7th September Penelope Guest, who lives nearby, heard some faint cries. She tells the story.

    ‘Well, it’s started…the mass killing of podencos. Yesterday I could hear tiny helps, coming from the mountain behind me. John and I climbed up as far as we could, and could see a bag hup higher. John was able to clibe all the way up, and inside the bag were seven newly born podenco puppies. Unable to bring them back up, I called a friend to bring some ropes and a pulley and we were able to bring John and the half-dead pups up.

  • Two podenco puppies in Cadiz for adoption

    Karen Ilse 1 250 8 2013Look at the fabulous ears on these two stunning chocolate podenco pups who are in a foster home in Cadiz area. They needed to move to another foster home as their carer could no longer look after them as she is in poor health. A new foster home has been found but these two babies are 6 months old and called Ian and Ilse and need even forever homes. Please Contact Karen if you can help. (Ilse has the white paws)

  • Podenco Andaluz puppies needing forever homes

    Pod pup foster mum 1 190Danielle White is fostering Amber, a Podenca Andaluz, and her puppies. She gave birth to 7 healthy babies, 4 boys and 3 girls who are now 6 weeks old. Some have been found forever homes but she still needs homes for 3 boys. She says Amber has a wonderful nature.

  • Seville & Valencia – young podencos needing homes

The young male Ibicenco is no good at hunting, so the hunter is going to kill him along with a couple of Breton Spaniels who he says also are no good as hunters.     And this white beauty, Nana, is only 3 months old, found in the middle of a road in Poblet, Valencia. She is so good, quiet, submissive but cheerful. Seems good with cats, loves other dogs and people.   • Abandoned in Cadiz – foster home needed urgently

    Cadiz pod puppies 3 250These little chaps were abandoned together, found dehydrated and with a skin infection, for which they have received veterinary treatment. The two young women who are caring for them need to find a foster/adoption home for them before 3rd September, as they are moving into rented accommodation where they can’t take the pups.   • Badly injured podenca mama needs help

It’s obviously been badly broken and has healed at such an angle that she cannot use it and she is in pain. She needs an operation and then adoption, her pups are already reserved.   • Happy Endings for two little podencos

    I’m pleased to report that Lucia, the little podenca with the terrible scar on her back, has already been reserved and will be going to her forever home in the USA. And Dobby, the podenco on death row, is hopefully going to a forever home in Belgium. Here is a lovely video of him in his foster home. Thank you to Galgos del Sol for saving them.

    Sadly there are thousands of puppies on death row throughout the perreras of Spain; we can’t help them all, we just focus on the galgos and podencos. Action is long overdue to stop the over breeding of dogs for material gain and those born to abandoned un-neutered bitches.

  • Podenco pups in a killing station! Anyone help?

I haven’t got much information, the email implies that they are in Jerez perrera in Cadiz, along with a handsome brindle year-old male galgo with an injured hind leg. The information came from Maribel. Any further information or help welcome.
