  • Pepis Dog Refuge – their Xmas Day present from above!

Pepis bedroom window 1 250 12 2013These are the pictures of Pepis Dog Refuge on Christmas Day 2013, the day after we left after our visit to Jane and Alan and all their beautiful dogs.

    ‘Jane Brian 25 December 20:11

This has never happened before on Christmas Day, complete devastation, very strong winds and torrential rain. After moving the dogs in the house from the ground floor to the upper floor for safety, which as you can see was fast filling with sewage water, to the upper floor.

As the forecast is for more storms tomorrow, we went up to the caravan and found the shed had been completely devastated, with all the expensive electronic equipment which ran our limited solar electricity and all Alan’s electric tools in thick mud and water. The solar we did have has now been destroyed and the solar panels were blown into the olive tree.

  • 4th Fun Dog Show at St Pardoux, Sunday 8th September 2013

Best Crossbreed 250Here are some of the pix from my 4th Fun Dog Show fundraiser held on 8th September 2013. You’ll see pix of Most Handsome Male, Best Veteran, Best Crossbreed, Best Brace, Adult and Junior Handler, and all the first placed winners forward for Best in Show. Thank you to my lovely French judge Mireille Poupard, President of Agility Club de Terves and my great steward Rachel Moon – there’s no one better at getting everyone in the right place at the right time! I have a wonderful team of volunteers helping me, including MOH David. Without their support, the event would not happen – proceeds go to a couple of small refuges in Spain.

  • Podenco Andaluz Solo – seeking his forever home and family

Bev Solo 1 250 7 2013Introducing handsome podenco Solo, who is with Bev Farmer. He’s desperate for a family and a loving home to call his own for the rest of his life. Can you find a place for him? Bev Farmer describes his character.

‘This is Solo he has been at Pepis Refuge since he first wandered into their gates as a puppy back in 2008.

For some reason no one has shown any interest in him, it’s such a shame that he has not had a family of his own for 5 years.

To help out Solo has come to us and he is a super Podenco very friendly loves to play with the other dogs very quick to learn and wants to please. He is a really affectionate dog and not a loner and at night time he sits on Warre’sn lap while Warren’s drinking a beer or two.

I think he will be brilliant at agility and we will start with some training with him. He has his passport up to date vaccinations, blood tested and negative and is castrated. Thank you to Beryl who sponsored Solo and organised for him to travel to us.

To adopt Solo please email me; podencofriends@hotmail.co.uk
