Dogs in, Dogs out – busy time at Association 112carlotagalgos
It’s a busy time at the moment at 112carlotagalgos in Malaga. Two of their rescued and rehabilitated galgos Bruno and Halo have now headed off to Belgium and forever homes, Polyana and Gandalf are settling into their new homes in the UK, and podenca Angela Angelica heads off to the USA tomorrow (28th May) and her forever family. But 3-legged beauty Ana is still waiting – surely there is a place in someone’s heart for this stunning podenca.

Podenca Ana – still waiting forever
You may remember the story of Ana, an injured abandoned podenca near Valencia and taken into the care of 112carlotagalgos in Malaga. Operated on, sadly her leg could not be saved. But she has healed and is now in a foster home. Here’s the latest news.
‘A broken down podenca living on a hymn and a prayer. Carrying her heavy heart and painful broken leg. Living rough and thinking thats all there is to life.. well several months on, rescued, healed from her amputation and having learnt trust at the stables she went into foster care with an amazing Sandra and her wonderful family.

This little baby is in Malaga perrera…..LALI is a small podenquita, very sweet, although easily scared, with beautiful eyes. If she is not take out, her life will be over before it has even begun.

Angela, what can I say? She has been with us now a year, she has never complained she has never cried. Rescued from rejection, and yet rejected again. For as much as her galguero threw her out, her precious babies left behind, she was wandering around with chronic mastitis and a broken heart. Healed of such at 112 carlota galgos, she is rejected again for adoptants just don’t see her! Here she is peeking over Mariposa’s back, this is Angela.

Malaga – walking the streets in Protest!
Traffic in Malaga was today brought to a standstill when animal lovers in Andalucia took to the streets to protest about animal cruelty in Spain and in particular the plight of the galgos at the hands of the hunters. It’s at this time of year that the galgueros get rid of their dogs – upwards of 50,000 every year. The protestors wore black, many of the dogs wore black collars and scarves. Well done, everyone. Podenca Ana, from Valencia to Malaga – saved from the hunters
You may remember an appeal for someone to make room in a refuge of home for an injured podenca who had been living rough since October. I’m happy to report that she has now been saved. The podenca has been named Ana, after the village where she had been living. She has been taken in by 112carlotagalgos, travelling by their pet transport company from Ana, Valencia, down to Malaga. Here’s her story.

Malaga podenca needs forever home – adopt a podenco
Last week I introduced you to a young podenca bitch rescued from starvation on the streets of Malaga. This was her story.
The picture you see now is of Canela today, what a difference love, care, regular food can make – in just one week. And isn’t she absolutely stunning. Here’s what Charl says about her now.
‘Canela is a podenca of a fawn type interesting colour and white, slightly rough coated. She has a tiny little face and huge ears! Rescued 2 weeks ago, she came with very very dry skin but now this is much better. She is negative in Filaria, Erlichia, Leishmania. Vaccinated, and will be sterilised, approx.4 years.
