  • Update on Podenca Libby’s pups with SOS Animals

    Libbys pups 400 9 2017You will remember my appeal for help for podenca Libby and her 5 pups living in a cave and being fed by an Englishman living nearby. After he had to return to the UK (no choice in the matter) a local lady volunteer with SOS Animals stepped in. Libby and one of her pups are adopted by Vincent and a friend, the other 4 pups are growing fast with SOS Animals.

    Thanks to your generosity along with others, enough money was raised towards vaccinations for the pups. Rescuer Sue has this update.

    ‘Big Bang Theory has provided the inspiration for the names for our four playful sibling puppies…meet (left to right) Howard, Penny, Leonard and Sheldon. They love each other very much. Penny is already reserved for a home in the UK when her papers are ready for travel.’

    I watch for things that you seemingly and carelessly forget
    Like leaving me in the garden. All you’ll have now is regret.

  • Young podenco – dumped like trash to be killed! Caceres, Spain – URGENT!

He’s terrified…look at his eyes! Poor soul.   • Keep your new dog safe…important lessons to learn

    Ann Marie Payne is with SOS Animals in Coin and has become very concerned about the number of posts for lost dogs! Here’s what she writes.

    ‘Lately I’ve seen so many posts about newly adopted dogs escaping.

    You may be excited at the idea of having a new dog, but your dog is probably terrified and will want to flee at the first opportunity.

    Please try to put yourself in their mind and try to imagine this.

    They may have had a miserable life and ended up in the pound, or simply might have got lost and ended up in there. The pound is not a nice place, and many struggle to survive mentally as well as physically. They go into foster and regain some of their trust, only to find themselves crated up and off to somewhere new.

  • Podenca Thelma – safe from a hunting future

    Thelma…… SOS

    This is the youngest podenca of a hunter who fortunately is hospitalized in the hospital, fortunately he can’t take care of it, and fortunately in his family there is no successor hunter.

    He collapsed and the person who was doing everything he could to find all of them, going to check the situation in the shitty place they were kept, took Thelma and took her to the vet.

    9.5 kg, covered, dehydrated, with fleas and anemic. But thanks to her young age, liver and kidneys are fine. And she hasn’t got heartworm. Luckily, the hunter’s vet said she will be fine.

    Fingers crossed she is soon adopted.

  • The truth about animal abuse in the Canary Islands (Spain)

    After the four-dog TV show, one of the activists who made it possible, has narrated their desperation and how they have managed to get channel Cuatro out to the Canary Islands to record the program. This video expresses the desperation of the animals who fight for animal rights in the Canary Islands and how they have to confront the abusers, municipalities, politicians and how they do nothing, breaching with their obligations. Complaint after complaint, you see how it is impossible to avoid animal suffering.
