This is a report from Akira Dog Sanctuary who are helping a shelter Rescue and Love destroyed in the recent floods. It;s an example of what so many of the shelters need to rebuild the kennels.
From Rescue &Love – Dana has blown our shelter and although our dogs are ALL in foster homes, they are VERY temporary fosters and we need to reopen our facility ASAP. Unfortunately, for that we need your cooperation because we do not have enough money, we also appreciate cooperative labor, because it is impossible for us to face more debts.
We keep record of what we need and ask that whoever is possible to help us with whatever you can, thank you in advance:
– More than 30 doors damaged for pits (each costs 170 €)
– 2 large doors of 3 meters from the iron entrance
– Rails
– Generator Light 1
– Water pump 2
– Plumbing works and whatever comes up on the go
We know it’s going to be very hard to get everything, but we need it, they need it, they deserve it. We can’t fail them at such a critical time.

UPDATE 13/11
A huge thank you to everyone who has donated so far for the rescue effort for the victims of the floods in Valencia. We will be visiting Rescue and Love this Saturday and we have been conversing with them on a regular basis to find out what it is they need as we have so many items we don’t want to buy items they have or an influx of the same item for example we have many many kgs of food so this is not necessary for the moment.
We do have to say a big thanks to Store and.go, who have offered us free storage in Ondara for the items so we can take them to rescue and love and the other rescues as they need them .
They are most in need of travel crates and wire cages . They also need artifical grass on which we pass on some of the grass we was donated recently and share some of this but they will need much more to repurpose the areas for the dogs as everything was destroyed. We are also asking for donations as they will need items such as water hoses and karchers for the clean up and then later building materials and tools too.
