Bogus RSPCA callers – animal owners beware – please circulate!

Please see message below that was received today from a trusted source. Could you all send to everyone in your address book, with lots of eyes looking for this van there’s much more chance of them getting caught.

When I was halfway to Kent doing deliveries this morning I had a phone call from my son, apparently the RSPCA were at my door. I have seen a white van with lowercase letters ‘rspca’ (NOT their Logo) in my road for the last 2 days with the occupant seemingly just walking around ? Luckily, having seen the van, I had reminded my children just yesterday that if they come, they do NOT come in, they do NOT see my dogs, and they must come back when myself and/or my husband are here.

They asked straightaway if they could come in (?), then asked if we had cats or dogs, then said from the barking when they knocked it sounded like some of our dogs were GSD’s…..they showed No I.D. either…..

I was mightily pee’d off that they’d come when I was out, so phoned the RSPCA when I got home to ask what it was about and tell them they need to make an apt as we are busy people and they won’t catch us otherwise, I was asked if they’d left a calling card, and when I said no, it was stressed to me that their officers will ALWAYS leave a calling card, and to phone the police.
This I have just done, and have a case number to call if I see the van again, this area is apparently rife with dogs stealing at the moment and all sorts of things are being done to mislead owners and steal the dogs. Apparently GSD’s are one of the breeds they steal to order – what a surprise.

LETCHWORTH last week, ROYSTON this week – are you local? It may be your town next! I phoned DDA WATCH whilst I was on the road to make sure of my rights, they are FAB! Please support them, and look after your dogs!

Many thanks
