This is Penelope, a Portuguese Podengo with Dogs of Portugal, looking for a forever home. Click on this link for more information about her, more pictures, video. Contact DOP if you can offer a forever home.
Josephine is a little cat which Bev Farmer took in as a kitten. She is companion to 17 year old Tilly and stands her ground with some of the other podencos at feeding time. Wonderful photos from Bev Farmer.
Podenca Peaches is a Spanishdeathrowdogz dog, rescued from the kill list in a perrera
‘It’s me! Peaches, why does nobody love me enough to share their home with me? I’m a lovely sweet girl who has had a horrible past, when the ladies found me I had a huge hernia, I was in a lot of pain, but now I’m fine, I just need that elusive home. I’m a sweet, friendly girl, in fact I quite like men, very unusual here in Spain. I’ve been waiting for such a long time for my furever home, I wonder if it’s ever going to come. Please share so lots of people see me, it only takes one person to fall in love with me and my life could be changed in an instant. I will come with an adoption contract, passport, spayed and vaccinated. What’s not to love?’
Contact Lynn Judge if you have room in your home and heart for her.
Make 2020 a special year for a lucky podenco – take one into your home and heart. They are loving and loyal and are great characters.
Happy New Year and thank you for following Podenco Post and supporting the appeals.
Sorry it’s a galgo and not a podenco – couldn’t find a similar picture with a podenco!
Wishing all my readers a Happy Christmas and a healthy and positive 2020. Thank you for your support throughout the year and caring about the podencos.
Those of you who have a copy of my book From Pyramid to Perrera will know Tilly, Bev Farmer’s beloved podenca who is now 17. Recently Bev took in a stray kitten.
‘Josephine thought an ear massage might be nice for Tilly Iām not sure it was very relaxing for her. But amazed she was so tolerant for a dog that has hated cats her entire life even all these years she can still surprise me.’
