Regular readers will know I frequently highlight the maltreatment of the podencos on the Canary Islands. They have a terrible life and their only real chance of a forever home is on mainland Europe.
Evil metal snares are often used in woods and forests and sadly the podencos get caught up in them. The picture below is an illustration of one such case. This female Podenca was found like this in the forest in La Esperanza and is now in Valle Colino shelter in La Laguna, Tenerife.
