  • Podencos in Spain – a hard life on the streets

    Elena Madrid pods 250 3Two heart -wrenching stories from Spain – starving podencos needing help.

    We have called them Alba and Maya – two podencas have appeared in a very bad situation on the streets of a small village in Madrid, FuentidueƱa de Tajo. Skinny and dying, hardly able to stand up.

    A very good friend of Elena Alonso, who gives her whole life to animals,found them and took them into the car, People were just walking by ignoring them.

    They are two young female pods, full of tiks and stunned by fear. Nevertheless, they aren’t able even to eat anything. They can barely stand up!

  • Podencos from Mairena, Valencia, off the street….

    4 Podencos rescued from Mairena with LASA and needing help with vet fees, food, and a very sick podenca bitch rescued off the street in Valencia. Mesquegossos association need help with vet fees for her.She has an agressive form of scab and anemia. She was tested on Mediteranean diseases and came back negative! She now has a long way ahead of treatments against the scab. She will go to a foster home, get good high protein food and rest. And Gala in Valencia too. Please help if you can.

  • Urgent – 3 x podencos in Madrid perrera

    Madrid pod x Snif 250These are Snif, Nemo and Mina, three podencos in a perrera in Madrid. The two first ones are males and the third a female. Irina is a fantastic spanish lady and volunteer that has made visits and photos and saved MANY dogs from there just the last few days, thanks to her eagerness.

    But so far no sucess with these three beauties. Today the perrera is changing its owner and a company is going to take over, what this will mean in practice is uncertain, but the place is horrible. The dogs get cold, sick and some have even died from starvation. It’s a hell.
