The lucky ones end up in the refuges like SARA Protectora on Lanzarote, TARA on Gran Canaria, Tenerife Dogs & K9 on Tenerife. But what about the hundreds of others? SARA Lanzarote – saving animals in the Canary Islands
I mention many times how hard it is for the podencos in the Canary Islands to find forever homes. The SARA Lanzarote newsletter popped into my mailbox today and I couldn’t believe that Rodrigo, this beautiful podenco, is still in the SARA shelter – 5 years on! He’s a failed hunter, good to walk on a lead, good with children and adults and other dogs. Surely there must be someone somewhere who has a place in their heart for him?
They have donzens of deserving podencos there, amongst all the other dogs, please contact them direct if you can help Rodrigo or any of the others.
